The Art of the Football Shirt Exhibition

Jacket Required have partnered with Culture Historian and author of A Lover’s Guide to Football Shirts, Neal Heard to present a very special 2 day exhibition to celebrate football shirts from a fashion perspective.

Over time the iconic football shirt has graduated from the worlds pitches into the world of streetwear, becoming a fashion statement. Curator and passionate fanatic, Neal Heard shares his wisdom on the topic and explains how this transcendence occurred. He takes us back in time with some very nostalgic pieces which people will remember regardless of their passion for the sport. He shares how music and pop culture also made an impact.

The exhibition will feature over 150 notable football shirts from a collective archive, depicting the the roots of their history, and expanding on their relations with music, fashion and politics. It will lead up to the current day and take you beyond to Heards views of how streetwear designers would collaborate with teams to create Football Shirts of the future.

Sadly this even will only be taking place in London for 2 days, but it is open to the public and a one off so we highly advise making the trip down to see it. For further details visit the Jacket Required website.
