Style File: Alex Turner

Last time out we ventured into the music industry to pick out one of the best dressed men in hip-hop, Kanye West. We’re sticking with music this time around and taking a look at Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner – a guy who is known for reinventing his image but always remaining slick.

To catch up on previous Style Files, click here. A few years back all the media attention around celebrity couples was centred around Turner and his spouse at the time Alexa Chung, they were both (and still are) considered to be strong British tastemakers. Where they go, others follow. Part of the appeal for all Turner fans is the esteem in which they hold him thanks to his music and on-stage attitude and performance – it’s something they aspire to. He’s gone from a young fresh-faced Indie kid from Sheffield, to a long haired rocker and now sports a 50s-inspired Rockabilly look, but whichever look he’s had he has always owned it.

Leave your suggestions for the next guy to be featured in the Style File in the comments section below…

Alex Outfit #1This was the look we came to know and the one a lot of people still associate with him. Considering this was taken around 2006 it has aged well fashion-wise, that’s because a neat Lacoste polo shirt is timeless. The one we’ve picked out above is from the Lacoste Live offshoot line, the Ultra Slim Pique Polo.

Alex Outfit #3When he grew his hair long, his fashion sense also became a lot more loose and relaxed. A comfortable, long-sleeved three-button shirt is a multi-purpose option that is works when worn alone or layered. Button it up to the neck for a smarter look or leave them open for a chilled out vibe. It’s the Selected Climp Split T-Shirt you’re seeing above.

Alex Outfit #2Here’s Turner as we know him today, inspired by the Rockabilly scene he’s given it a modern twist and we reckon it’s one of his strongest looks to date. The slicked back hair and shades are a must and the perfect apparel to team up with them is a plain white tee and a slim fit, hard-wearing pair of jeans. With the distress effect over the front pocket area, we thought you could easily replicate with this pair of G-Star RAW Yield Loose jeans.
